All Act to amend the Ombudsman Act 1984

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Ombudsman Amendment Act 1991 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Ombudsman Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").
2. Name reserved - The principal Act is amended by adding the following section immediately after section 27:
"27A. Name reserved - (1) No one other than an Ombudsman appointed under this Act may use the name Ombudsman in connection with any business, trade, or occupation, or the provision of any service, whether for payment or otherwise, or hold himself, or itself, out to be an Ombudsman except pursuant to an Act of Parliament or with the prior consent of the Minister responsible for the office of the Ombudsman.
(2) Anyone who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500.00."
