An Act to amend the Public Holidays Ordinance 1949

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Public Holidays Amendment Act 1970-71 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Public Holidays Ordinance 1949 (hereinafter referred to as "the Ordinance").
Section 2 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by omitting the words "Constitution Days, i.e., 4th and 5th August in 1966 and subsequent years and when either the 4th or 5th August falls on a Saturday or Sunday the day or days shall be observed on the following Monday or Tuesday as the case may be", and substituting the words "Constitution Day 4th August, except when that date falls on a Saturday or Sunday in which case the following Monday shall be observed as the public holiday,
Gospel Day, 26th October, except when that date falls on a Saturday or Sunday in which case the following Monday shall be observed as the public holiday,".
