Native Administration Ordinance 1922 - Regulations governing Fishing in Lagoons 1936

THE ISLAND OF NAURU


Administration Order No. 4 of 1936.


REGULATION MADE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE NATIVE ADMINISTRATION ORDINANCE NO. 17 OF 1922(b)


FISHING IN LAGOONS


1. Any person wishing to fish in the Lagoons at Anabar, Buada, Anetan, Ijuw or Menen, between the hours of 6.30 p.m. and 6.30 a.m. must obtain the permission of the Chiefs of Anabar, Buada, Anetan, Ijuw or Menen Districts.


2. Fishing between these hours is only to be carried out if the Chief or the Assistant Chief or the District Constable is present.


3. It is the duty of the Chief or his representative present at the Fishing to prevent the illegal removal of fish from the ponds the property of others.


4. Penalty: For fishing between the hours of 6.30 p.m. and 6.30 a.m. without the Chief or his representative being present, a fine not exceeding £1.
