JUDGMENT


The Accused is charged with rape of a young girl at Karaina Settlement in Honiara on 16 September 2013. The Accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when he was arraigned. The first witness for the Prosecution is the victim who gave evidence on 15 April 2015.


The trial continued on 16 April 2015. However, on that date the Prosecution terminated their case when they submitted that they would not adduce further evidence against the Accused. They have according closed their case.


There no evidence against the Accused. He is accordingly acquitted of the rape charge laid against him in the indictment filed against him in court on 16 May 2014. Order accordingly.
