AN ACT to Amend the Customs and Excise Act (Cap. 121).

ENACTED by the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.

CUSTOMS AND EXCISE (AMENDMENT) ACT 2012

1. Short title and commencement

This Act may be cited as the Customs and Excise (Amendment) Act 2012 and commences on the date of publication in the Gazette.

2. Amendment of Section 7

The Customs and Excise Act (Cap.121) is amended in section 7 by renumbering the existing provision as subsection (1) and by adding the following new subsection -

"(2) The Minister may with the concurrence of Cabinet by Order replace or amend the First Schedule. Any such Order shall be laid before Parliament at the next sitting of Parliament in accordance with section 62 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act (Cap. 85)"
