Joint Court of the New Hebrides |
JOINT COURT OF THE NEW HEBRIDES.
POLICE CASE.
No. 11
The Public Prosecutor
PLAINTIFF
versus
Jules Raguet and
Madame
Chazot.
DEFENDANT
CHARGED WITH having illegally sold liquor to natives under Article LIX of the Convention.
JUDGMENT GIVEN
on the 9th May 1911, by the Joint Court.
-------------------------------------------------
For the same reason given in the case of the Public Prosecutor against Guillaume; i.e. that the alleged offence was committed on 4th November 1910, while the suspended Articles of the Convention, which relate to the Joint Court, were only proclaimed on 15th November 1910. The Court therefore declines jurisdiction. The costs of the case to be at the charge of the Condominium.
The President
The Registrar.
