Public Prosecutor v James [1912] VUNHJC 27; Criminal 64 (9 August 1912)

This ninth day of august 1912


In the matter of a charge against Donald Bedford James of having on or about the 28th day of May 1912 at Kerr Bros' store in Vila sold one plug; of dynamite to Kalpuas, a native of Fila Island, contrary to Article LVII of the Anglo-French Convention of the 20th October 1906.

The above-named Donald Bedford James stands convicted in default of appearance before the Joint Court for that on; the 28th day of May 1912 at Kerr Bros' store in Vila he did sell one plug of dynamite to Kalpuas, a native of Vila Island, contrary to Article LVII of the Anglo-French Convention of the 20th October 1906.

Thereupon the Joint Court sentences the said Donald Bedford James for his said offence to pay a fine of ten shillings and the costs of the prosecution and orders that the said dynamite be confiscated and Sold and that the proceeds of the said sale are to be paid Into the Condominium Treasury.

The aforesaid sum of ten shillings and costs be paid into the Condominium Treasury forthwith.
