JOINT COURT OF THE NEW HEBRIDES.

JUDGEMENT No. 633.

JUDGMENT

Hearing of the Fourteenth day of January one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six.

The Joint Court of the New Hebrides has rendered the following judgment:

Whereas following a notice made out at the Registry of the Joint Court on the 24th August 1935, by Maître des GRANGES, Advocate on the Roll of the said Joint Court, acting in the name of UCHIDA KAMEGO, A Japenese resident at Vila, French Ressortissant, makes appeal against a judgement of the Joint Court of the 1st June 1934, notified to the said UCHIDA KAMEGO by the French Police of Vila on the 22nd August 1934, which judgment was delivered in confirmation of a judgment rendered by the Court of First Instance of the 2nd Subdivision of the Central District, on the 16th May 1933, condemning the said UCHIDA KAMEGO to one month's imprisonment and a fine of 500 francs.

Whereas Maître deu GRANGES, in support of his Appeal has not produced a written authority from his client.

And it is not necessary to enquire as to whether in the matter of a final confirming judgment, pure and simple, it is susceptible to Appeal or not.

The Joint Court declares that the Appeal brought for by Maître des GRANGES in the name of UCHIDA KAMEGO is not accepted in its present form.

This is rejected.
