GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS AND TENDERS (AMENDMENT)
ACT NO. 8 OF 2009

An Act to amend the Government Contracts and Tenders Act [CAP 245].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendment

The Government Contracts and Tenders Act [CAP 245] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS AND TENDERS ACT [CAP 245]

1 After section 3

Insert

“3A Renewal of Government Contracts

(1) A Government Contract, must not be renewed unless it has complied with the tender process as set out in this Act.

(2) To avoid doubt, a Minister, a Director General of a Ministry or a person authorised by the Minister or the Director General must invite applications from the public for tender of the Government Contract referred to in subsection (1).”
