REPUBLIC OF VANUATU

PUBLIC SERVICE (AMENDMENT) ACT

NO. 18 OF 2000

An Act to amend the Public Service Act No. 11 of 1998 (the "Principal Act").

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:

REPEAL OF SECTION 16

1. Section 16 of the Principal Act is deleted.

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 18

2. Section 18 subsection (3) of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after "agreement" "or on directive by the Prime Minister."

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 22

3. Section 22 of the Principal Act is deleted and replaced by the following:

"MINISTER'S DIRECTIVE

22. A Director-General, director or other employees are subjected to the direction of their Minister in relation to his, her powers under this Act."

COMMENCEMENT

4. This Act shall come into force on the date of Assent.
