AN ACT to authorise the issue and application of certain sums of money out of the Treasury Fund, and the Public Trustee's Account, to the Outputs, Sub-outputs and Transactions on behalf of the State for the Financial Year ending with the 30th June 1997 (hereinafter referred to as the year 1996/1997).

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Western Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:-

1. Short title and application-(1) This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act 1996/1997.

(2) Sections 2 and 3 and the Schedule of this Act relate to Departmental outputs, sub-outputs, outputs to be delivered by third parties and any transaction on behalf of the Independent State of Western Samoa and the Grant and Appropriation of Monies out of the Public Trustee's Account for the year 1996/1997.

2. Grant and Appropriation of "$196,014,049" out of the Treasury Fund-(1) There may be issued out of the Treasury Fund and applied to the Departmental Outputs and Sub-outputs, Outputs to be delivered by third parties and any transaction on behalf of the State as specified under this Act for the year 1996/1997 sums which do not exceed in the aggregate the sum of $196,014,049.

(2) The sums authorised to be applied by subsection (1) of this section are hereby appropriated to the Departmental Outputs, Sub-outputs, Outputs to be delivered by third parties and any transaction on behalf of the State expressed in the several votes and estimates specified in the Schedule to this Act.

3. Grant and Appropriation of $1,167,644 out of the Public Trustee's Account-(1) There may be issued out of the Public Trustee's Account in the Bank of Western Samoa and applied to the Outputs, Sub-outputs, salaries and other charges and expenses lawfully incurred or payable in administering the Public Trust Office for the year 1996/1997 sums which do not exceed in the aggregate the sum of $1,167,644.

(2) The sums authorised to be applied by subsection (1) of this section are hereby appropriated to the services of the Public Trust Office.
