AN ACT to amend the Head of State Act 1965

[28 March 1998]

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement-(1) This Act may be cited as the Head of State Amendment Act 1998 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Head of State Act 1965 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

(2) This Act shall come into force on the date of its assent by the Head of State, and shall have retrospective effect to 1 January 1997.

2. Personal allowance of the Head of State - Section 7 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the figure "$12,000" from paragraph (b) and replacing it with the figure "$20,000".
