AN ACT
To make Nauru Government Securities authorised investments for public bodies, statutory corporations, corporations and trustees and for associated purposes.

AN ACT
To make Nauru Government Securities authorised investments for public bodies, statutory corporations, corporations and trustees and for associated purposes.

Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:
SHORT TITLE
1. This Act may be cited as the Public Investments Act 1978.
INTERPRETATION
2. In this Act—
"Nauru Government Securities" means Nauru Government Stock and Treasury Bonds;
"Nauru Government Stock" means stock to which the provisions of Part III of the Government Loans Act 1972 apply; and
"Treasury Bonds" means bonds to which the provisions of Part IV of the Government Loans Act 1972 apply.
MODIFICATION OF EXISTING LAWS
3. The existing laws mentioned in the first column of the Second Schedule to this Act are amended to the extent set out in the second column of such Schedule.
NAURU GOVERNMENT SECURITIES TO BE AUTHORISED INVESTMENTS
4. Any person may subscribe for, hold, acquire and dispose of Nauru Government Securities.

Securities as defined by section 2 of the Public Investments Act 1978" and in paragraph (b) after the words "by any Act of Parliament of the Commonwealth or of the Parliament of any State of the Commonwealth,
for the investment of trust funds in Australia" there shall be added the words, "or by any written law of Nauru". |
