CONDOMINIUM
v.
PEREL of Emau
The accused PEREL was charged that:
"On the night of the 24/25th May 1963 at Vila, Central District No. 1, together with ALON of Emau, stole from the Public Market coconut crabs valued at £4. 9. 0d the property of Turi of Leleppa and bananas valued at £5.10. 0d. the property of Tonsey, Mareth, Tounapau, Toumet and Harego of Leleppa", to which charge he pleaded guilty.
The facts were that on the night in question the accused, when intoxicated, went to the Vila Market and destroyed bananas and coconut crabs belonging to the complainants and threw them into the sea. The value of these goods was estimated at £A9.19. 0. The Court adjourned the case to the 11th October to enable the accused to pay £A.9. 0. 0. compensation. The matter was further adjourned to the 22nd October when the Court was informed that the accused had paid the A9. 0. 0. compensation.
Accused has no previous convictions.
Accused is convicted and fined £1. 0. 0. Sterling and ordered to pay the costs ./.
